“Hey friends!

If you didn’t know, I’m a member of For the Kids at Georgia Tech [tag our Facebook page so that people can see what FTK is all about]. Today, I have been challenged to raise $100 for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta! Why $100? Well, all of the donations that FTK receives all year long benefit the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Sibley Heart Center. Sibley Heart Center treats thousands of children each year through inpatient services. Their Cardiac Intensive Care Unit is one of the largest dedicated in the country with 27 total beds, cardiac operating room suites and more than 20 outpatient cardiology locations across Georgia. Sibley also provides family support programs such as Kids at Heart (mentors, family outings, and support opportunities provided to families year round), Camp Braveheart (a week long summer camp specialized for kids with heart conditions), and Feed the Heart ( a food pantry that is available to families throughout their stay). You can donate at the link below or venmo [insert venmo or @gtftk] Thank you!

"Hello [insert name]!

If I haven’t yet told you, I am a member of the [your committee] committee of For The Kids at Georgia Tech, the largest student-run philanthropic organization on our campus. Each year, we partner with Children’s Miracle Network, a nonprofit that promotes community awareness of children’s health issues, to raise funds for children’s hospitals, medical research/training, and patient care uncovered by insurance. Being a student at Georgia Tech has provided me with the unique opportunity to fundraise for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), a hospital system located in the greater Atlanta area that services almost 400,000 pediatric patients annually.

We are excited to announce that this year our fundraising efforts will be supporting with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Sibley Heart Center, home to one of the top pediatric cardiac programs in the country! Many of the heart conditions treated at Sibley are congenital, which are the most common birth defects without a known cause. Luckily, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Sibley Heart Center cares for thousands of children each year through inpatient services. Their Cardiac Intensive Care Unit is one of the largest dedicated in the United States with 27 total beds, cardiac operating room suites near the unit, and more than 20 outpatient cardiology locations across Georgia.  Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Sibley Heart Center also provides family support programs such as Kids at Heart (mentors, family outings, and support opportunities provided to families year-round), Camp Braveheart (a week-long summer camp specialized for children and teens with heart conditions), and Feed the Heart (a food pantry that is available to families throughout their stay).

For The Kids has a goal of raising $340,000 before our big celebration, Dance Marathon, on March 2nd, 2019! One of the ways that we seek to fundraise is through our “push day” - a day where each member of our organization is tasked with raising $100 for the kids in just 24 hours. I would be extremely grateful if you would consider donating to this very worthy cause to help me reach my goal of $100 today! You can donate at this link! [insert your link] Donating online is safe, easy, tax deductible, and 100% goes straight to Children’s Miracle Network!

If you have any questions about our organization, Children's Miracle Network, or Children's Healthcare of Atlanta please let me know. I would love to talk to you!
